Chandigarh, February 21

Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian on Wednesday condemned the death of a young farmer at the Khanauri border. Khudian stated that such violence against own citizens was unacceptable and called upon the Union Government to intervene to stop the atrocities.

“The Centre must step in and end police brutality against our ‘Annadata’,” the minister urged. “These farmers are peacefully demanding their rights. Haryana’s treatment of them is deplorable,” he said. “Farmers deserve respect and protection. They should not face brutality while exercising their rights”, he stated.
