Bholath (Kapurthala), Jan 21

Addressing his first rally of workers of Bholath after coming out of jail, MLA and Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira today thanked his political opponents for standing with him against the vendetta politics by the AAP government.

Khaira also said an AAP-Congress alliance in the state was unlikely. Reiterating that the cases against him (2015 NDPS Act case and recent Subhanpur FIR) were false, Khaira said he would seek a CBI inquiry into these.

Mentioning the name of Bibi Jagir Kaur, Khaira said, “I saw her interview saying that the case against me was wrong. I have also been unfair to her in life. I don’t believe in apologies but I want to tell, Bibiji, I will support your stances regarding the SGPC”.

Khaira also thanked the state BJP president Sunil Jakhar, Congress chief Raja Warring, LoP Partap Singh Bajwa and Punjab in-charge Devendra Yadav and besides SAD leader Bikram Majithia. He also thanked Simranjeet Singh Mann, Navjot Sidhu and Pargat Singh.

From the Congress, Jalandhar North MLA Bawa Henry, Sultanpur Lodhi Congress leader Navtej Chema and Adampur MLA Sukhwinder Kotli also attended the event.

Khaira said, “On stopping BJP in 2024, I think most likely all our leaders in Delhi understand this and they won’t go for alliance.”
