Patiala, March 7

Following a recent video in which youths, dressed in Russian army uniform, had claimed that they needed help as they were duped and now fighting a war in Ukraine, family members of a youth have denied allegations. Gurpreet Singh is one of the boys who is also seen in the video.

Dakala village resident Gurpreet had left four years back to Russia on a tourist visa and has been in touch with the family. “We are not aware if he is fighting a war or is in any danger. He is fit and I had a video call with him just an hour back. He along with another 6-7 boys from Punjab are very happy and in no danger”, said Gurpreet’s brother.

He said he had also seen the video on social media. “There is no problem that he faces in Russia. He was recruited by the army almost a year back”, he said.
