Jalandhar, July 28
Despite a compromise between Jalandhar West AAP MLA Sheetal Angural and the officials and employees at the District Administrative Complex over the former’s allegations of corruption against the latter via his Facebook Live, all does not seem to be well still.
Even as the MLA went to New Delhi to meet AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and shared his picture on his FB page, members of the Punjab Civil Services Officers’ Association on Thursday met Chief Secretary VK Janjua in Chandigarh and shared a release about the same.
The association was led by its working president Major Amit Sareen, against whom the MLA had levelled allegations of favouritism with a travel agent. Sareen had strongly confronted the charges on the spot itself terming them completely baseless.
The incident had occurred on Friday evening and the PCS officials and DC office employees had announced to lodge a protest from Monday. But the government had intervened and got the matter sorted out by Sunday evening, making the MLA apologise in a video message.
During the compromise between the two sides, the employees’ union leaders came from across the state but Sareen had stayed away. His meeting with the CS is considered to be in the same context to send across a message that such kind of attitude of the MLAs would not be tolerated.
Later , the members also met CM’s Principal Secretary A Venu Prasad and discussed some field issues with him.
