Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar to head party's poll management panel

The Punjab BJP today announced its Election Management Committee headed by the party’s state head Sunil Jakhar.

Jai Inder Kaur, daughter of Capt Amarinder, has been made the in-charge of the Women Campaign Committee.

The committee has 38 sub-panels which include several top leaders. The party has set the ball rolling for the Lok Sabha poll in the face of farm agitation against the Centre.

Jakhar is a chairman and convener of the committee while Rakesh Rathour, Anil Sarin and Dayal Sodhi have been appointed co-convenors.

Jai Inder Kaur, daughter of Capt Amarinder, has been made the in-charge of the Women Campaign Committee.

SS Channi is a convenor of media relations with Col Jaibans Singh, Vineet Joshi and Hardev Singh Ubha as the co-convenors. Jasmine Sandhawalia heads the media relations with Dhruv Wadhwa, Sunil Singla, Subhod Verma and Janardhan Sharma as the co-convenors.

The Mainifesto Committee would be headed by Som Parkash, Avinash Rai Khanna and Ashwani Sekri. The co-convenors of this committee include Surjit Kumar Jyani, Jangi Lal Mahajan, Fateh Jung Bajwa, SS Channi, Ashwani Sharma, Shwait Malik and Charanjit Singh Atwal.

Jai Inder and Sandhawalia, who was earlier media in-charge of the Shiromani Akali Dal, are only two women faces in all the panels which feature around 70 men.
