Union Minister for Housing, Urban Affairs, Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri presided over a meeting of officers of various departments at the District Administrative Complex on the second day of his three-day visit here.
Expressing satisfaction over the work being done by the district administration on implementation of the Union Government’s schemes, he directed the officers concerned to extend the benefits to the maximum number of people.
Sharing his experiences, Puri said it was a good quality for an administrative officer to listen to the problems of the common man and then deal with them in a timely and fair manner. He also sought suggestions from the authorities for the development works to be done for the betterment of the city.
The minister also listened to the problems faced by the people while seeking necessary suggestions for better plans for the future.
Earlier, Puri visited the local AIIMS hospital. During the visit he inspected the OPD and emergency ward.
