Jalandhar/Chandigarh, Feb 22

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address the ‘kisan maha sammelan’ being organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at Baghapurana in Moga on March 21, party president Bhagwant Mann said here on Monday.

Addressing the media, Mann said, “While Punjab CM Capt Amarinder has been toeing the line of the BJP, former Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Badal (SAD) also failed to raise the issue of farmers with the Centre in time. The AAP has been with farmers from day one.”

Speaking on AAP’s performance in the MC elections, Mann said, “We don’t see these elections as a semifinal or final for the party. Vidhan Sabha poll issues are different.”

International hockey star and retired Inspector General of Punjab Police Surinder Sodhi, among other prominent personalities, joined the party.

Meanwhile, the AAP’s Punjab leadership on Monday conducted meetings with all stakeholders of the party in Amritsar and Jalandhar to discuss the upcoming strategy post the municipal body elections. A statement issued from the party headquarters said all office-bearers, leaders and MC candidates from Majha and Doaba regions were invited for the meetings to analyse the shortcomings and discuss a strategy to strengthen the party for the upcoming 2022 Assembly elections.

The meetings were convened under the leadership of AAP state president Bhagwant Mann, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, and others.
