HC dismisses plea for 2nd post-mortem

Chandigarh, June 17

The Punjab and Haryana High Court today dismissed a plea for second post-mortem of alleged gangster Jaipal Singh Bhullar after asserting his petitioner father “miserably failed” to satisfy the Bench on how the petition was maintainable.

Justice Manjari Nehru Kaul asserted the alleged occurrence took place at Kolkata. The post-mortem, too, was conducted by the doctors at Kolkata. As such, it would be beyond the jurisdiction of the court to issue directions sought by the petitioner.

Justice Kaul took note of the submission that the body was lying at Ferozepur. “...the petitioner is impugning the first post-mortem, which was conducted at Kolkata beyond the jurisdiction of this court,” he said, dismissing the petition. — TNS
