Chandigarh, September 30

The Punjab and Haryana HC today confirmed the interim anticipatory bail granted to Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan in a case registered against him on August 26 for allegedly hurting religious feelings of the Sikh community. The Bench, at the same time, granted the investigating officer the liberty to make Maan join the probe through video-conferencing as he was down with Covid.

“As no custodial interrogation of the petitioner is required, the interim bail granted on September 15 is made absolute. Let the petitioner join the investigation within five weeks from today. In the meantime, the investigating officer may join petitioner through video-conference,” Justice Avneesh Jhingan asserted. — TNS
