Govt to set up film city on 400 acres: Punjab CM

Says will ensure safe workplace for artistes

Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi today said the state government would set up a film city on 400 acres near Mukaronpur village to promote the state’s culture. It will ensure a safe, secure and exclusive workplace for producers and artistes, he said.

He was address a gathering after laying the foundation stone of Punjab Film City, being set up by PFC Entertainment World Private Limited executive director Iqbal Singh Cheema.

He said Punjabi films were more successful than other language films and Punjabi songs were liked across the world. He called upon script writers and songwriters to not promote vulgarity and anti-social activities.

He said Punjabis had succeeded wherever they had gone and hoped that they would dominate in the film industry too.
