Government sanctions Rs 1.11 cr for free ration in Barnala

In good news for around 12,000 children in the age group of 0-6 and 4,200 pregnant and lactating women of Barnala, the state government has sanctioned Rs 1.11 crore to the district authorities to provide a nutrient-rich diet to them.

District Programme Officer Kulwinder Singh said as per government instructions, residents were getting ration for 15 days. Due to Covid, the cooking of food had been stopped till further orders, but ration was being provided at homes by officials. — TNS
