Gang of vehicle thieves busted in Hanumangarh, 18 bikes recovered

Abohar, February 28

A 36-year-old resident of Nai Abadi in Abohar, who had been declared a proclaimed offender in drug peddling cases by the Punjab Police, was arrested in Hanumangarh for allegedly leading a gang of vehicle thieves.

Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan said that Kanu Soni (36), a resident of Nai Abadi in Abohar and his accomplices — Prince Arora (30), a resident of Sriganganagar and Rohit Arora (27) of Hanumangarh — have been arrested. Prince works as a scrap dealer.

The SP said that so far, 18 stolen motorcycles, 10 chassis in broken condition and scrap engines of four motorcycles have been recovered from warehouse owned by Rohit Arora. Kanu, who is addicted to drugs, admitted to stealing several motorcycles, the SP added. In the past, one case under NDPS Act and four cases of assault were registered against him.
