Fugitive's property attached 33 years after he was booked under TADA

Properties worth over Rs 2 crore attached  after court allowed application

Patiala Police said on Saturday that they had attached properties worth over Rs 2 crore of a fugitive who was named a suspect in a terrorism case 33 years ago, a police officer said.

A local court recently declared Baldev Singh, a suspect booked under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in 1988, a proclaimed offender and allowed police to attach his properties, Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal said. 

The property attached includes seven acres of land in his village, Dandoa, and are valued at Rs 2.17 crore in total.

Besides him, police have also attached properties of 16 other proclaimed offenders. The total value of the properties attached is Rs 7.99 crore, Duggal said.

Police meanwhile continue to look for the fugitives, Duggal said.
