Fazilka man 'kills' sister over property dispute

A man allegedly killed his sister over a property dispute at Ojhanwali village in Fazilka.

Sources said Baljinder Singh had a dispute with his brother Chhinder Singh over a piece of land.

The victim has been identified as Parveen Rani (35), who was visting her parents during summer holidays. The victim’s father, Jarnail Singh, told the police that Pooja wife of Baljinder informed him that that his brother Chhinder was trying to encroach upon a 25 marla plot.

Baljinder, who had engaged labourers at his farm, came with a sharp-edged weapon to assault his brother. As Rani tried to mediate, she was allegedly hit on the neck by Baljinder. A case has been registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC against Baljinder and Pooja.
