Jalandhar, june 6

Reacting to Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh’s justification over the demand for Khalistan, former state BJP minister Manoranjan Kalia on Saturday said, “It does not behove of any person holding a responsible post to say something that can disturb the communal harmony of the state.”

In a statement, he said, “The Jathedar has hurt the feelings of Punjabis. Sri Harmandir Sahib is a religious place which belongs to all. Both Sikhs and Hindus bow their heads with reverence. The state was able to defeat terrorism because of communal harmony.”
