Dy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa launches drive to return case properties

Patiala, November 24

Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today launched a state-level campaign to hand over belongings of people lying in police stations in Patiala. Launching the drive, starting from Patiala, Randhawa handed over case properties worth Rs 32.5 crore, including 184 vehicles, related to 248 cases in Patiala district.

Randhawa, accompanied by Director General of Police (DGP) Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota, was here at the Police Lines to launch the state-level campaign to hand over the belongings of the people lying in the state police stations. MLA Madan Lal Jalalpur, senior Congress leaders Harinder Pal Singh Harry Mann and Gursharan Kaur Randhawa were also present. On the occasion, Randhawa handed over 184 vehicles to the owners. He said arrangements had now been made in every district to immediately hand over the goods in dowry cases to the people and Malkhanas should be vacated so that the goods of the people were not damaged.

Appreciating the efforts of Patiala SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar, the Home Minister announced Rs 2 crore for Patiala Police Lines Stadium and Rs 20 lakh for Police Welfare Fund besides new vehicles for PCR. — TNS
