Amritsar, March 5

A group of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) members have shown dissent with their president Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s move of merging with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), led by Sukhbir Singh Badal.

SAD (Sanyukt) religious wing head Mohkam Singh said a meeting had been called in Jalandhar tomorrow to decide the next course of action.

Criticising Dhindsa’s move, he said he had been in touch with various party leaders who were against it. “This is just Dhindsa’s exit. The party is still committed to its principles. I am in touch with various members of the party who intend to maintain the sanctity of the party,” he said.
