Amritsar, July 11

CM Bhagwant Mann today slammed Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for diluting the claim of the state on Chandigarh. He alleged that former CM Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal had connived with the Centre for their vested interests at the cost of the state’s claim on Chandigarh.

He asked Sukhbir to explain why they were tight-lipped about Chandigarh when they were a part of an alliance at the Centre. “Everyone knows who shifted the government offices from Chandigarh to Mohali and developed New Chandigarh. Even the Congress remained a mute spectator," he said.

Brushing aside the statements of Akalis and Congress, he said every issue pertaining to the state would be resolved with active consultation and participation of people. He also paid obeisance at the Golden Temple with his wife Dr Gurpreet Kaur, mother and sister.
