Moga, February 11

The SAD carried out a candle march here today demanding justice for two of their workers allegedly murdered by Congress activists.

Leading the march, Youth SAD leader Barjinder Singh Brar and district party president Tirath Singh Mahla warned the Congress government against testing their patience.

“The Congress men must either mend ways or else the Akalis will discipline them,” said Brar, while demanding early arrest of all suspects, who allegedly mowed down the Akali workers under their cars. He said if the local police failed to arrest the suspects, they would launch an agitation against the district administration to seek justice. “We stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and will explore all legal options to get justice,” he said. Senior Akali leader and former minister Tota Singh also participated in the march. He condemned the incident and demanded speedy trial of the accused.

Local residents carried out separate candle marches in the city to express their concern over the incident. — TNS
