BSF jawan dies in road accident in Ferozepur

In a tragic incident, a constable deployed in 116 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) died in a road accident near Kulgarhi village of the border district.

The BSF jawan has been identified as Sonjoy Sutradhar (30), son of Ranadhir, a resident of Chottosurma village in Dhalia district of Tripura.

BSF Commandant Om Parkash said Sonjay was a dedicated and hardworking soldier. “Sonjoy was hit by a truck yesterday late evening while he was coming back to the sector headquarters on his bike,” he said.

“The incident took place near Satiyewala village, around 2 km from the BSF headquarters. The driver and the vehicle involved in the accident could not be identified,” he added.

Sonjoy was married and had two children, the BSF Commandant added. An FIR under Sections 304-A and 327 of the IPC was registered against an unidentified driver at the Kulgarhi police station.
