Chandigarh, July 1

As former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is recovering after a back surgery in London, there is a buzz in political circles that he is likely to join the BJP soon.

Capt Amarinder Singh, who had left the Congress last year, had floated the Punjab Lok Congress (PLC). His political outfit contested the last Assembly elections on a seat-sharing basis with the BJP. The buzz is that he is likely to merge the PLC with the BJP after returning from London.

It is learnt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to him after his surgery on Sunday. Major Amardeep, political secretary to Capt Amarinder Singh, said the former CM was recovering post surgery in London.

Major Amardeep, who is accompanying Captain Amarinder in London, said once he returns to India, he would meet other leaders. The former CM is likely to return by mid of this month.
