Chandigarh, July 16

The Punjab Police have promoted 60 Sub-Inspectors of the armed police cadre to the rank of Inspector. With this, almost all vacancies of the Inspector rank have been filled in the armed wing of the police.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said, “This move will further streamline the working and help in increasing the efficiency of the armed wing.”

The move comes a week after the Punjab Police had promoted 101 Sub-Inspectors, including 95 women officers, to the rank of Inspector.

The DGP said, “Assuring timely promotion to my colleagues is my top priority. This will not only boost morale of the force, but also overcome the shortage of staff at the supervisory level in different wings of the Punjab Police.”

He said all vacancies at the supervisory levels, including Head Constable, Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspector, would be filled at the earliest.
