4 armed men loot Rs 40 lakh from petrol pump in Punjab's Sirhind

The men fire at the salesmen who were going to deposit the money in a bank and injure them before fleeing

Fatehgarh Sahib, May 29

Four armed men looted Rs 40 lakh from the salesman of a petrol pump at Bhatmajra village near Sirhind.

Harmeet Singh, employee of the pump, said he, along with a gunman, was going in a car to deposit Rs 40.8 lakh at the SBI Sirhind City branch. He said as they approached Madhopur Chowk underbridge, four armed men arrived in an i-20 car. They fired four rounds, snatched the gunman's gun and decamped with the cash. They fled towards the Rajpura side.

The SSP along with other police officials rushed to the spot.
