32 people test coronavirus positive in Patiala

Patiala district has reported 73 cases of the virus in the last 24 hours

Patiala, July 11

Thirty-three people in this district tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday morning.

With this, Patiala district has reported 74 cases of the virus in the last 24 hours.

Of 33, the highest number of cases, 20, was reported from Samana block. Eight were reported from Patiala city while one each from Patran and Rajpura. Three cases were reported from various villages.

With this the total number of infected people till now is 553.

Patiala has been witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases. In the past week, Patiala has reported over 160 cases. 

Civil Surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra said people were hiding their travel and contact history; therefore, cases were on the rise. He requested people to report travellers to the health department.
