2 test +ve for dengue in Malout

Muktsar: Two dengue cases have been reported in Malout. The patients include a woman from Danewala village and a 5-year-old boy from Malout. Dr Sunil Bansal, SMO, Civil Hospital, said, “The teams have been deployed to check for larvae breeding, besides fogging is being done.” Larvae were found at 30 spots in Malout. TNS

Speaker in self-quarantine

Chandigarh: Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Wednesday quarantined himself after he came in contact with Jails Minister Harjot Singh Bains. The minister tested Covid-19 positive recently. A spokesperson said, “The Speaker is following the Covid-19 protocol. He is in sound health and will work from home.” TNS

13-yr-old boy feared drowned

Muktsar: A 13-year-old boy is feared to have drowned in a drain at Midda village on Wednesday. The boy has been identified as Harpreet Singh. He had gone near the drain at 1 pm. “When the boy didn’t return till 3 pm, the family informed us. We have called two divers from Fazilka,” said Amrik Singh, sarpanch, Midda village.
