1,085 liquor boxes seized, one arrested

This is the fourth bulk seizure of Punjab-made liquor in Rajasthan in the month of January

Abohar, January 20

A team of Bhanipura police intercepted a truck between Pallu and Sardarshehar on the Hanumangarh mega highway in Rajasthan today and seized 1,085 boxes of Punjab-made liquor.

SHO Malkiat Singh said on the basis of information flashed by Amit Kumar, in-charge of special surveillance team, a truck which was carrying 860 boxes of Crazy Romeo brand and 225 boxes of Party Special brand, both country-made foreign liquor, was intercepted. The consignment carried labels which read “For sale in Arunachal Pradesh only”. Truck driver Narinder Jat (27) had been held.

The SHO said preliminary investigation indicated that the consignment was to be delivered in Gujarat. The call details of the phone used by the driver were under the scanner.
