Punjabi singer-actor Harjit Harman was recently seen in the film Tu Mera Ki Lagda. Harman is already working on his third movie, where he plays the lead with Shefali Sharma as his co-star.

How will you differentiate working in a film from working in the music industry?

I feel, there is not much difference between both the industries. The experience is slightly different, however. But in the end, the act remains the main part. In a song also, you have to act. The only difference is that a film can provide you a larger platform for acting. I am enjoying the film industry too. I guess, acting is not a bad task and if anyone gets a chance to act, he should do it.

The Punjabi music industry has been witnessing glamour, weapons, drugs etc in the songs. Your songs have always maintained the same taste of deep love, social issues and simplicity. How do you manage to stay relevant?

I always remain connected to the reality. And I feel, no one should remain disconnected with reality. It would be good if you are showing your real face in the songs. And I don’t feel the songs promoting weapons, fashion and drugs can create a unique identify of an artist in the society. Subjects like love, social issues and simplicity are always going to touch the souls of the listeners.

Your favourite moments during the shoot.

I enjoyed each and every moment during the shoot. The team worked like a family. I still remember the family-like vibes on the sets.

Your fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming projects

A melodious Punjabi album is on its way. Although, no film is planned yet after Tu Mera Ki Lagda.
