Patiala, January 18

After service book automation and implementation of online file tracking systems, Punjabi University is going to conduct all examination department-related processes through an online web portal. The process of admission, filling forms and declaration of results at the examination department will be done through an online portal which will become functional from Monday, the officials said.

University students and staff of the examination department had been facing hurdles due to lack of an online system for examination purposes, including filling of forms, deposition of fee, downloading of exam forms and centre statements.

Students at times had to face issues as offline collection of forms and preparation of cut-lists took a lot of time leading to harassment of the students as well as branch staff.

The students of the university had to face issues with faulty or wrong detailed marks sheets (DMC) prepared and provided by the department offline.

Dr Balwinder Singh Tiwana, Controller, Examination Branch, said the university had been working on ensuring process of all examination related functions are conducted through an online portal since months. He said, “Now, we are going to make the web portal accessible from January 20 after which students of all classes, whether regular or of the Department of Distance Education will be able to fill forms for the upcoming semester online.”

Officials said the online process will solve a number of issues for the department and ensure there is no delay in the execution of tasks.
