Patiala, March 6

The Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion (Blood Centre) at Government Rajindra Hospital organised a workshop that aimed to expand the blood donation movement. The workshop was held at the Clinical Lecture Theatre at the hospital, and blood donor organisations, motivators, and blood donors participated in the event.

The incharge at the Blood Centre at the college, Dr Monika Garg, said the workshop was organised to meet the ever-increasing demand for blood at hospitals and to spread awareness about the challenges in blood collection.

Over 110 participants associated with the voluntary blood donation movement attended the workshop, which was inaugurated by Principal Dr Rajan Singla. He emphasised the role of blood donation services in the functioning of hospitals and urged the participants to organise blood donation camps to enhance patient services.

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr HS Rekhi, stressed the importance of voluntary blood donors and organisations that conduct blood donation camps.
