Soon, Punjab to have its own education policy: Minister

The state government is framing its own education policy, stated Education Minister Harjot Bains today. He was in the town to preside over a teachers’ training programme at the DIET. He said as per the directions of the CM, experts were working on the policy. “It will be implemented soon,” he added.

Bains said the government was going to introduce “School of Applied Learning”, for which 40 schools had been selected under a pilot project. About 2,000 students would be admitted in these schools. “Class 11 pupils will be taught banking and financial services, insurance, digital design and development, healthcare science and beauty and wellness, so as to enable them make a career,” he said.
