Sarpanches apprised of legal aid, lok adalats

The Punjab State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, today held video conferences on Zoom app with supervisors, Anganwadi workers, sarpanches and panches of villages wherein the latter were apprised of legal aid and lok adalats.

Officials said participants were made aware of the witness protection scheme, free legal aid, lok adalats, permanent lok adalat (PUS) and mediation and conciliation centre. They were also told about the aim of the witness protection scheme, officials added.

During a video conference held with sarpanches and panches of Ram Nagar, Bakhshiwala, Lung, Phagan Majra, Rajgarh, Darolli, Dhamo Majra and Dhablan villages officials sensitised participants to main provisions of the witness protection scheme, features of the Constitution and citizens’ duties, including fundamental duties, officials said.
