‘Sanitisation process going on at slow pace’

Sanitisation process started by the MC in view of the Covid-19 across the city is going on at a slow pace, thanks to use of only one machine for the purpose, allege city residents. The MC had recently purchased the spray machine for sanitisation of all public places in the city. The machine has a containing capacity of 20,000 litres.

MC officials said they have sprayed the disinfectant twin oxide spray at various areas with the help of small handheld spray machines as well the process with which was started last Tuesday.

DC Kumar Amit has said the administration has made sure to disinfect public places in six colonies and otherwise 90 per cent of the city while Municipal Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur said the administration has already covered areas around Choti Nadi, Ghuman Nagar, Azad Nagar, Rajindra Hospital area, Anand Nagar, Bishan Nagar, among others.

Meanwhile, residents in the city said they have not seen the disinfectant being sprayed in their areas.

MC Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur said the MC will take appropriate decision to buy a new machine as per needs. “We covered the Rajindra Hospital area and the inner city today.”— TNS
