Patiala, February 22

Senior leaders of the SAD today met injured farmers at the Government Rajindra Hospital here. They claimed the governments of Punjab and Haryana were equally to blame for turning barriers into borders. They condemned the brutal use of force and bullets on Punjab farmers “protesting well within Punjab’s territory”.

Former Cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia and former MP Prem Singh Chandumajra met Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta Sidhupur) chief Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who was admitted to the hospital following some health complications at Shambhu where teargas shells were fired by the Haryana cops.

“Why has a murder case not been registered by the Punjab Government so far for Shubhkaran’s brutal killing? Why is the Chief Minister silent on the killing of a Punjab youngster by outsiders?” asked Majithia.

Chandumajra said, “The SAD has been asking Bhagwant Mann for the past over a week to intervene to stop the Haryana Government from invading Punjab to attack our farmers. Shubhkaran would have been alive and no one would have been injured, if Bhagwant Mann had acted on time”.

The two leaders also urged the Centre to discuss the genuine demands of the farmers in a cordial atmosphere and not when the Haryana cops were firing on Punjab farmers.
