Patiala: SAD (Amritsar) demands change of name of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law

Patiala: Leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) on Tuesday held a protest and demanded change of name of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) here. The protest was organised outside the university campus. In a memorandum to the Governor of Punjab, the party leaders have demanded that the name should be changed as it is after Rajiv Gandhi. They have alleged that many Sikhs were murdered in Delhi during the riots in 1984 at the behest of the leader. TNS

Punjabi University syndicate

Patiala: The state government has re-nominated three members of Punjabi University syndicate. They are Dr Nar Bahadur Verma, Dr KD Singh and Harinder Singh (Harry Man) who is a Congress leader from Sanour. TNS

Plaint against camel owners

Patiala: The police have registered a case against unidentified persons under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act here. Officials said the case had been registered on a complaint by Prapti Bajaj of Mohali. They said as per the complaint, the suspects have kept three camels and treat them badly. TNS
