Panel for PPE kits for medical staff

Patiala, April 8

The Centre should work providing medical staff with personal protective equipment (PPE) to boost their confidence rather than telling people to light ‘diyas’, says Lok Sangarsh Committee, a social organisation.

Highlighting the issues of the medical staff, the committee said an acute shortage of protective gear had created fear among doctors and paramedical staff. The committee said providing them with protective gear should be the government’s priority.

“If paramedical and doctors get infected with the disease, the healthcare system will collapse,” says the committee.

Raminder Patiala, member, Lok Sangarsh Committee, said that PPE kits, masks, gloves and ventilators should be available in an ample amount.

He said, “Lighting up candles and Divas will not solve the problem. To save the saviour is consequential, therefore, we should focus on strengthening the healthcare system.” The committee suggested that nurses and doctors should be given accommodation at their work places.
