Oriental Bank of Commerce gives Rs652-cr farm loans

The Oriental Bank of Commerce has given loans worth Rs 652 crore to farmers in the region.

Deputy General Manager, Patiala circle, Ajay Kumar Singh, accompanied by Assistant General Manager Anil Mutreja and Assistant General Manager Vijay Kumar Munjal said this during a press conference at the Patiala Media Club here today.

The bank, which was established in 1943, is observing its 78th Foundation Day. Officials said it was providing pension services to farmers as started by the Centre. “The bank regularly holds camps to provide various services, including loans, to farmers,” they said.

Ajay Kumar Singh said over 80 per cent of the process at the bank had now been digitised with which over 2.83 crore people had already joined. “The bank with 2,390 branches and 2,625 ATMs has done a business of Rs 4 lakh crore in the past three months and earned a profit of Rs 201.66 crore. The Deputy General Manager said the Oriental Bank of Commerce has a special centralised grievance redressal branch.
