‘Newlywed’ woman found dead in canal

Patiala, July 26

The body of an unidentified woman, apparently newlywed, was recovered from the Bhakra Canal here last night.

The police said they received a call from divers that they had fished out a body from the canal. The investigating officer said the woman, aged between 22 and 25, was wearing traditional wedding bangles and hence, appeared to be a newlywed. The body has been kept at the mortuary of Government Rajindra Hospital. — TNS
