National Lok Adalat to be held tomorrow

A National Lok Adalat, pertaining to all types of cases, (except non-compoundable criminal cases) will be held in Patiala on Saturday. Officials said benches of judicial courts will be constituted at Patiala, Rajpura, Samana and Nabha.

Rajinder Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, said the primary objective of the Lok Adalat was to settle disputes amicably through compromise to save time and money of the parties involved and to reduce personal enmity between them.

He said, “When a case is settled in the Lok Adalat, its award becomes final and no appeal can be filed against it.

Moreover, court fees (if any paid), is also refunded to the parties. The parties get speedy disposal of their dispute as per their own terms of mutual settlement.”
