Patiala, February 8

The police have started a probe after an unknown person trespassed into the State Bank of India branch in the Kotwali area during the wee hours of Thursday. The police said that though the thief could not take away any valuables, he decamped with the DVR system attached to the CCTV cameras.

SHO Kotwali Harjinder Singh said that the bank branch is situated amidst a residential area, and the alarm system of the branch was not working. “The person entered the branch, and since there was no night guard on duty, the thief tried to hit the cash and valuables. However, he could not take any valuables with him, so he left with the DVR system that was attached to the CCTV cameras,” said the SHO.
