Man dies as gun goes off

Mystery shrouds the death of a person who, allegedly, died due to accidental firing on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday in the Vidyanagar area, near Punjabi University. The deceased has been identified as Amarinder Singh (47), a resident of Alipur village.

The police officials said the victim had gone to his friend’s place where his gun accidently fell on the floor and discharged.

The victim’s friend called the ambulance which, allegedly, took a bit longer to reach the spot. Consequently, the victim died while on his way to the hospital. The doctors declared the victim brought dead. — TNS
