Man booked for eloping with minor girl

Patiala, October 18

The Sadar police have registered a case against a man for allegedly eloping with a 14-year-old girl. The suspect has been identified as Karan, a resident of Lakhmirwala village in Sangrur.

The police said according to family members, the victim did not return home after attending her school. They alleged that the suspect eloped with the girl on the pretext of marriage.

The police have registered a case against the suspect under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 366-A (procuration of minor girl) of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act.
