Patiala, January 23

A flight simulator has been set up at Khalsa College to train NCC air wing cadets. The simulator was provided by the NCC Director General, while 3 Punjab Air Squadron helped the college set it up. The college secretary, Surjit Singh Rakhra, and Brigadier Rahul Gupta inaugurated the simulator on the campus today.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration, Rakhra said that the simulator would aid the training of students and they will be able to complete the initial stages of aviation training in college. This would help them complete professional training with ease, he said.

Brigadier Gupta said that using this simulator, students would now be able to realise their dream of flying an aeroplane and gain the basic knowledge needed for flying a plane.

Principal Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha thanked the government and 3 Punjab Air Squadron for providing them the simulator, adding it would help give wings to the students’ dreams. He added that Khalsa College is the only college in Patiala where students would be able to gain basic aircraft training.

Punjab Air Squadron NCC CO Group Captain Ajay Bharatwaj said that the availability of the simulator at the college would motivate students to serve as pilots in the Air Force.
