Dengue larvae found, destroyed at 717 sites in Patiala

Under the “Friday Dry Day” anti-dengue drive, health teams today detected and destroyed larvae at 717 sites in the district.

Around 34,666 households were checked during the drive. Officials said incessant rains had already increased the risk of dengue spread. Meanwhile, the Health Department has appealed to the residents to actively participate and do their bit in keeping dengue at bay.

Civil Surgeon Raju Dhir said five out of the total 461 suspected cases tested positive for the vector-borne disease.
