6 test positive in Fatehgarh Sahib district

Fatehgarh Sahib/Khamano, June 1

After a gap of three weeks, six new cases of Covid have been reported in Fatehgarh Sahib district.

Five of those tested positive are members of a family of Panaichan village near Khamano and one is from Mandi Gobindgarh. All have been admitted to Gian Sagar Hospital, Banur. Five family members were first reluctant to board the ambulance, but were persuaded to do so by the police.

Dr NK Aggarwal, Civil Surgeon, a member of the family is married in Delhi and on May 25, he and his wife, who is reportedly a nurse in a hospital, and a child returned to the village. After getting the information, health teams collected their samples on May 30 and today, five members of the family were tested positive - the nurse was tested negative, but her husband and child are positive.

He said a youth had come to Mandi Gobindgarh from Delhi after appearing for an interview and was tested positive.

Harpal Singh, Superintendent of Police (I), Fatehgarh Sahib, and Dharmpal, Khamano Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the village had been sealed and policemen were deployed to restrict the movement of people.
