One booked for threat to witness in Tank case

Abohar, January 20

The police today registered a case under the IT Act against Ankush Chalana of Gobind Nagari, nephew of YAD urban circle president and financier Patel Ghulla.

Gurjant Singh Janta alleged that Ankush threatened him of dire consequences. Gurjant had accompanied Bhim Tank on December 12, 2015, to Ramsara village-based farmhouse owned by the Doda family. Both were allegedly attacked While Bhim had died as his limbs were chopped off, Gurjant survived. He deposed as a key witness in the case. Doda, his nephew and 20 others were sentenced to life imprisonment.

The recent development followed after Gurjant and Bhim Tank’s mother met DGP Dinkar Gupta last month and complained that SAD leaders were allowed to meet Doda in the court complex. — OC
