NSS volunteers hold cyclothon

Ludhiana: The NSS Unit of Sri Aurobundo College of Commerce and Management organised the Fit India cyclothon. As many as 40 pedallers of the college covered 17 kilometers from Rakh Bagh to Sai Dham. Students spread awareness about fitness and use of bicycles to tackle air pollution. The cycle rally was organised in collaboration with the Pedallers Club.

Movie screening for math students

The Department of Mathematics, Arya College, organised a screening of movie ‘Super 30’. The screening of the movie was conducted with the aim proved to introduce innovative ways to develop interest for mathematics among students. Principal Savita Uppal appreciated the efforts of the department for organising the screening.

Loveleen Kaur, student of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women brought laurels to the college by achieving excellent result in of BCA-III examinations conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. She bagged seventh position in the university by securing 87.2 per cent. The principal congratulated Lovleen for her achievement and wished her luck for future endeavours.

Seminar on industry-oriented skills

The postgraduate department of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, organised a seminar on vocational industry-oriented skills to aware students of the skills required to get jobs in the market. The resource person for the seminar was Vijay Kumar, regional manager, Tally Solutions Limited, Chandigarh. He informed students about the need to learn skills of operating tally and GST portals, and the sources from where students could learn software. They were also guided about employment options available after learning the said software.

Students take part in half marathon

Students of physical education and Eco Club of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan campus, Model Town, participated in half marathon, followed by demonstration of self-defense techniques. Principal Maninder Kaur motivated students to focus on their physical and mental health. TNS
