Bathinda, December 4
If things go as per plans, city residents will not have to go to the Municipal Corporation office to pay water and sewerage bills and property tax as they will be able to do so though their mobile phones.
MCB commissioner Anil Garg has prepared a special mobile application called e-nagrik and it will be launched in coming days. The commissioner claims that the Bathinda MC will be the first in the state to provide this service.
The application has been linked with the complaint link so that the person can track his complaint anytime online.
It can also be checked if the complaint has been resolved or not.
All branches — road, street light, water supply, sewerage system, sanitation, building branch, property tax and tehbazari wing — have been connected in the mobile application.
People can also complain about illegal buildings and water and sewerage problems by clicking photographs and sending them through the application.
News reports and events columns have also been included so that people can get to know about the news regarding the MCB and information about events going to be held.
Notifications and tenders issued by the department will also be seen on the application.
XEN Sandeep Gupta said the application could be downloaded from Google play store.
He said people could see their tax and also pay it online, for which they have to fill their UID number.
MCB Commissioner Anil Garg said the trail run of e-nagrik mobile app had been successful and it would be launched this week.
