Submarine Vagir inducted into Navy

• Vagir, fifth submarine of the Kalvari class, was commissioned into the Navy in Mumbai on Monday
• Its weapons package includes sufficient wire-guided torpedoes and sub-surface-to-surface missiles

Tech to enhance subs’ endurance

• The fuel cell-based air independent propulsion (AIP) system of DRDO’s Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL) will be fitted onboard INS Kalvari
• A pact was signed between NMRL and Naval Group France to extend cooperation in this regard
