New Delhi, November 18

The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its order on ex-BSF man Tej Bahadur's petition challenging the election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency in 2019.

Bahadur contended his nomination papers were wrongly rejected.

A Bench headed by CJI SA Bobde rejected the petitioner’s counsel's repeated requests to adjourn the hearing, saying the matter had already been adjourned thrice at his instance.

“This is too important a matter to be adjourned so many times. The respondent occupies an unique office. He is the PM of India," the top court noted.
