Chandigarh, June 17

The Central Government has directed all ministries and departments to revise the pension of employees released on compulsory retirement in accordance with the provisions of the Seventh Pay Commission.

Withdrawing the 2017 orders, the Department of Pensioners and Pensioners’ Welfare has said there will be no reduction in the amount of family pension computed as per the earlier orders, including in cases where the amount of initial compulsory retirement pension or compassionate allowance is less than the full pension.

Accordingly, pension or family pension shall be revised with effect from January 1996, January 2006 and January 2016 in cases of pre-1996, pre-2006 and pre-2016 retirees, respectively.
